Pickwick Lake has often been called the best trophy smallmouth fishery in the country. The lake regularly produces smallies in the 2- to 3-pound range and it is not uncommon to find 5- to 6-pound fish. There is also an abundant population of trophy size largemouth in Pickwick. While 5- to 8-pound fish are frequently caught, a few trophies exceeding 10 pounds are taken annually.
